Braye C. Boardman |
Braye Boardman was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. He graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Political Science. Soon after graduating from college, Braye began to work in the family’s petroleum business. Braye moved on to become Senior Vice President of Boardman Petroleum, which owned and controlled 67 convenience stores in 5 southern states. Later he moved on to become CEO of BPI Transport, which operated in 5 states and annually transported over 145 million gallons of petroleum.
Braye, along with his brother Clay, sold their retail outlets, trucking and fleet businesses in late 1999 and early 2000 and concentrated on the storage end of the petroleum business. Along with their partner, Braye and Clay formed Charter-Triad Terminal Company to operate bulk petroleum terminals in 3 states. In 2001 he sold his interests in Charter-Triad and formed Beacon Blue, LLC, a holding company involved in real estate development and management.
Braye has involved himself with various civic organizations over the years including, Youth Leadership Augusta, the Central Savannah River Land Trust, Sacred Heart Cultural Center, The Shelter and Advocacy Center for Abused Children, the Augusta General Aviation Commission, and the Georgia Conservancy. He is a graduate of Leadership Augusta, Leadership Georgia and the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership.
Currently he serves on the board of directors of the Southeastern Natural Sciences Academy, Augusta Tomorrow, the CSRA Alliance for Fort Gordon, the Tuttle-Newton Home, the Nature Conservancy (Georgia Chapter), the Episcopal Day School, Georgia Bank and Trust, and the Community Foundation for the Central Savannah River Area. In addition he serves as a member of Governor’s Savannah River Committee of Georgia and the Savannah - Upper Ogeechee Regional Water Council.
He and his wife Tori have been married for over 16 years and live in Augusta, Georgia. They have an 11 year-old son and an 12 year-old daughter. They are members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

YPA Super Bowl XLIV 02/07/2010 Partridge Inn Kickoff 6:27 pm YPA Members & Guests- $10/person
Come celebrate the most watched sporting event of year with us at the Partridge Inn. The Partridge Inn is bringing in big screen TV's and projection screens to place in the Ballroom, Verandas, and bar area. The event will start at 5 pm with kickoff for the big game at 6:18 pm. The event is open to all YPA members and guests.
The cost of the event is $10 which includes hot dogs, nacho dips, and more football type food. The Partridge Inn gave a YPA special rate of $20 which includes beer, wine, and well liquor drinks. Please RSVP for this special night at rsvp@ypaugusta.com. We need to give them an accurate head count. We look forward to seeing you for the Super Bowl XLIV at the Partridge Inn.

Join us Tuesday, February 9, at Crums on Central for our February Meeting. The meeting will begin at 5:30 pm for networking, followed by Braye Boardman of Beacon Blue at 6:15 pm. Mr. Boardman has been involved in the Augusta community for many years. He will give us words of wisdom and share with us opportunities we can get involved in to make a difference in the future and structure of Augusta.
